Efectos estabilométricos de la técnica osteopática cráneo-sacral sobre el latigazo cervical (whiplash)

Resumen

El latigazo cervical (Whiplash) es una de las patologías más frecuentes tras una colisión posterior por accidente automovilístico que suele tener mal pronóstico por sus secuelas. Los signos y síntomas frecuentes suelen ser el dolor y limitación articular cervical, la inestabilidad, dolor en brazos, lumbalgias y alteraciones psíquicas entre otros. Hemos realizado un estudio con 30 pacientes con Whiplash tras colisión posterior. Se les ha practicado, una prueba estabilométrica con los ojos abiertos y cerrados, antes de realizarles la técnica osteopática cráneo-sacral. Tras la realización del tratamiento se les ha vuelto a someter a una segunda prueba estabilométrica. Medimos tres parámetros: la superficie de la elipse de confianza (P1), la longitud de superficie -LFS- (P2) y el sway area (P3). Con las medias correspondientes mediante la T-Studen apareada nos da un descenso significativo en todos los parámetros: p<0,0005. Una p<0,025 en la segunda prueba con los ojos abiertos, una p<0,0005 con los ojos cerrados. Y una p<0,0005 en la tercera prueba. Respecto a la correlación de los distintos parámetros realizamos contrastes del coeficiente de correlación de Pearson y solo encontramos una relación inversa entre la edad y la prueba 2 con los ojos abiertos; lo que significa que, a mayor edad, mayor energía gastada para controlar el equilibrio. Existe una relación directa entre los parámetros de dispersión P1 y de eficacia P3 para ojos abiertos y cerrados; existe relación directa entre la mejoría con ojos abiertos y ojos cerrados de los parámetros de energía P2. También existe mejoría entre P2 ojos abiertos con el parámetro de dispersión P1 con ojos cerrados y el parámetro de eficacia P3 con ojos cerrados. No hemos encontrado ningún estudio similar al nuestro con el que poder discutir nuestros resultados. Concluimos que la técnica osteopática cráneo-sacra es eficaz para mejorar la estabilidad en pacientes con whiplash de forma inmediata, además influye respecto a la edad en relación a la energía gastada y existe mejoría entre todos los parámetros estudiados respecto a la inestabilidad.
