Abstract

Asthma is a very frequent pathology worldwide, which affects both adults and children, modifying their quality of life, it is associated with chronic medication that accumulates harmful effects on health over time. The objective of this work has been to determine if there is an osteopathic intervention registered in the last 20 years that reflects the efficacy or not of treatments with manual techniques inherent to osteopathy in children with this disease. A bibliographic search was carried out in the Pubmed, Scielo and academic Google databases, as well as in scientific journals related to health and Osteopathy. The studies consulted described the application of various osteopathic manual techniques in children under 18 years of age with results that reflected an improvement in the quality of life detected by the patients and a better functional respiratory capacity through objective measurements. In this way, osteopathic techniques are a useful addition to the list of treatment modalities available to patients with asthma.
